A Former Baseball Player Will Open The First BAC Dealer In The US

The US will now be able to buy the track-focused BAC Mono.

The BAC Mono has been on the market since 2011, but it is still one of the most extreme cars in the wolrd. This single-seater track car is so quick that it can actually match the McLaren P1 around a track. BAC eventually wants to build its own hypercar, but first it will finally bring the Mono to the US. Earlier this year, the Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) announced its official plan to open dealerships in the US. Before this, the only way to buy a Mono in the US was by importing one through a third party distributor.

BAC said that it wanted to open between eight to ten dealerships in the US, and now the first one has finally been announced. The first ever BAC dealer in the US will be called BAC Scottsdale in Scottsdale, Arizona. The dealership will be operated out of the same space as McLaren Scottsdale, which will bring two British marques together. BAC Scottsdale is owned by CJ Wilson, a former professional baseball player who owns numerous dealerships around the US including Mazda, BMW, Porsche, McLaren, Audi and several motorcycle dealers.

Wilson had a chance to drive the single-seater car on the track with a 360 degree video. Obviously, the car impressed Wilson, who owns a McLaren P1, with its 305-hp 2.5-liter turbocharged engine and feather-light 1,300 pound curb weight.

The former MLB star said in a statement “It’s with great pleasure that I can declare BAC Scottsdale officially open for business. When I first got into the Mono cockpit, I was absolutely blown away – it provides the ultimate experience for any driving purist, with unrivaled levels of accessibility, pace and poise. There are only five 2018 Model Year Monos coming to Scottsdale, and I’m very much looking forward to finding some very lucky buyers to join one of the most exclusive automotive clubs in the world.” Obviously the Mono will be exclusive, because the only dealership in the US has been tasked with selling just five units in all of 2018.
