The 2021 Genesis GV80 marks the Korean automaker's first foray into the lucrative luxury SUV segment. While US pricing for the luxurious SUV was announced back in March, the online configurator was only available for the Korean version - until now. Before sales begin in the US this summer, Genesis is letting us build our own GV80 using the configurator, allowing us to find out how much the price hikes up when you start adding optional extras.

As standard, the Genesis GV80 is powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 300 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

With RWD, the 2.5-liter version starts at $48,900, while upgrading to AWD increases the starting price to $54,650. The more powerful 3.5-liter V6, on the other hand, starts at $59,150. This V6 unit produces 375 hp and 391 lb-ft and is only available with AWD. Prices exclude the $1,025 destination charge.

Each engine option is available with a choice of three packages: Advanced, Advnaced+, and Prestige. In the 3.5-liter V6 model, the Advanced, Advanced+, and Prestige packages cost an extra $5,200, $5,900, and $11,800 respectively.

These packages add a raft of luxuries and driver assists including a surround-view monitor, blind-spot view monitor, remote smart park assist, premium audio system with 21 speakers, heated second-row seats, 22-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires, Nappa leather seating surfaces, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, road active noise cancelation, and more.

For the exterior, there are nine available color options for the US version of the GV80. Only the standard Alta White finish is available with no extra charge, while the remaining color options cost an extra $400 each. We opted for the SUV's signature Cardiff Green color. There are only two color options for the interior: Urban Ground/Beige, and Maroon Brown/Smokey Green. In total, our fully loaded 2021 Genesis GV80 came to $72,375, which is still cheaper than a top-tier BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE. How would you spec your GV80?
