What. The. Hell.
When we first came across this eBay Motors ad, we figured immediately that something wasn’t right. So we clicked on it, and this is what we found. Someone put up for sale this "2010 Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster LP640" with an asking price of just $49,000. It’s vital to read the fine print: the thing is a replica, but it’s a damn good one. Built on a totally custom chassis, the body is made from carbon fiber and fiberglass. There’s even Corvette C6 spindles and Z06 Brembo brakes front and rear.
The entire underbody is covered with large plastic sheets for better aerodynamics. Power? A 4.6-liter supercharged Cadillac Northstar V8 that pumps out 450 hp. A six-speed manual transmission taken from a Porsche Cayman sends that power to the rear wheels. OK, so we’ll admit that this is one of the best fake Lambos we’ve ever seen. But would you pay $49 grand for a fake, despite all of the impressive custom work done?
