Now the company’s sedan and upcoming SUV can battle for the name.
From 1976 to 1990, British automaker Aston Martin manufactured a massive four-door sedan that departed from its usual sports car offerings, featuring a powerful 5.3-liter V8 engine and epic proportions. Now, it seems the company is testing a modern version of the car. Will this be the next Aston Martin Lagonda? The name would seem fitting, except that Aston has already used the moniker on its 2009 SUV concept, which is expected to enter production in 2017.
Naming schemes aside, Auto Express has reported that this sedan may be a singular bespoke project commissioned through the Q by Aston Martin’s personalization department. It will reportedly feature a 6.0-liter V12, and be based on the Rapide’s platform.
