Back in February, we received word that Saleen Automotive would soon begin work on a Tesla Model S-based EV. For anyone familiar with Saleen's previous high-performance work on Mustangs, Camaros, and Challengers, that news was particularly surprising. Nevertheless, we were left intrigued. All Saleen said at the time was that its first EV would have "a revolutionary design all of our own" and will be "one of the most compelling Teslas to ever hit the roadway."

And now the first details and images of the car have been revealed. Set to make its official debut at Pebble Beach this week, the Saleen Foursixteen is basically a heavily modified Model S P85. It features a full body kit that includes a new front bumper with dual air dams, a carbon fiber lip spoiler, side skirts, and a rear spoiler and diffuser. It rides on a set of five-spoke wheels. The interior has also received various upgrades, such as dark gray leather and Alcantara upholstery complete with red contrast stitching. For now, we only have a few brief images, but we'll hopefully receive official photos and additional details shortly.
