Abarth Punto Scorpio – Another Sting

Abarth styles the Punto as a racing car for the road.

The Bologna Motor Show is not a major event on the calendar, however it is Fiat Group's home motor show and therefore it must show that it tries hard to put on the best show possible. So after Abarth unveiled three new Fiat 500 versions, it also showed off a new Abarth Punto Scorpion. Scorpion is of course the famous Abarth logo and only 99 cars have been made, all distinguished by a two-tone Nero Scorpione livery enhanced by a special matte black paintwork for the hood and roof.

The exterior of the car is enriched by special glossy black graphics for the roof and hood. They ideally reproduce the bottom of the "Nitro Powered by Abarth" snowboard and are achieved with a hand-crafted polishing treatment. The engine is the 1.4-liter MultiAir with 180hp at 5,750rpm and 199 lb-ft at 2,500rpm. Top speed is 168 mph. Performance is further improved with self-ventilated front disc brakes with oversized four-piston yellow brake calipers, perforated rear disc brakes, high performance front brake pads, front and rear Koni shock absorbers with FSD (Frequency Selective Dumping) valve and specially lowered springs.
