/ Comments

The Volkswagen and Audi aftermarket tuning specialist has just released details for its new VW GTD program.

In addition to the new Volkswagen GTI, the diesel-powered GTD version also packs quite a punch for those wanting an oil-burning hot hatch. Aftermarket tuner ABT Sportsline has already released details of its upgrade program for the new GTI but today it's unveiling a host of improvements for the upcoming GTD as well. Like its GTI counterpart, the ABT GTD features a more aggressive body kit consisting of a new front spoiler, grille and side skirts.

Under the hood, the tuner upgraded the 2.0-liter turbo diesel's output from 181 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque to 207 hp and 317 lb-ft. The upgrade package is finished off with a four-pipe exhaust, rear skirt insert as well as 18- or 19-inch alloy wheels. Official performance figures and pricing were not released.
