The BMW M8 Competition is the most powerful road-going BMW currently in production. Under the hood is the same 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine found in the M5, generating a colossal 617 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque, enabling the luxury grand tourer to complete the 0-62 mph sprint in just three seconds.
But if you've been craving more power from the M8 Competition (because the M8 Competition is clearly underpowered), German tuner AC Schnitzer is offering a new tuning package that gives the M8 Competition sportier styling and a massive performance boost. With AC Schnitzer's tuning upgrade installed, the BMW M8 Competition packs 720 horsepower and 626 lb-ft of torque - that's nearly as much power as a Lamborghini Aventador S.
If, however, you can't afford the range-topping M8 Competition and own a regular M8, AC Schnitzer doesn't want you to miss out. For the regular M8, AC Schnitzer offers a similar upgrade that increases the output to 700 hp and the same level of torque. AC Schnitzer hasn't released any performance specifications, but a video released by the tuner last month already shows the modified M8 Competition is capable of hitting nearly 200 mph.
Complementing the performance upgrade is a sports exhaust with two exhaust flaps available in Carbon Sport, Sport, and Sport Black that makes the M8 Competition growl with more ferocity - you can listen to it yourself in the video released by AC Schnitzer posted above.
To give the car a sportier stance, a custom spring kit lowers the suspension by 0.8 inches at the front and 0.6 inches at the rear compared to the standard suspension system. To improve the aerodynamics, the tuner has upgraded the exterior with a new front splitter, carbon side skirts, and a rear spoiler.
Completing the exterior modifications are custom 21-inch wheels available in three different designs fitted with 275/30 R21 tires at the front and 285/30 R21 rear tires. Inside, the M8's cabin is fitted with an aluminum shift paddle set, aluminum pedal set, aluminum footrest, and an aluminum keyholder.
