If you thought 47-year-old Mark Wahlberg limited his time to acting on the big screen and producing television shows, then think again. According to the Associated Press, Wahlberg has partnered with Michigan-based dealer Jay Feldman, who already owns eight Chevrolet dealerships in parts of Michigan, to open a new Chevrolet dealership in Columbus, Ohio. Banking on name recognition alone, the dealership is called Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet. "I am continuously looking for ways to innovate my brand and engage in businesses I am passionate about," Wahlberg said in a statement.

"I love cars and the chance to work with an experienced, proven dealer-operator like Jay and represent an iconic brand like Chevrolet inspired me to get involved." Another Wahlberg businesses, of which Feldman is also a partner, is the Wahlburger restaurant franchise that he co-owns with his brothers. Wahlberg also owns a movie production company, a health and wellness company, and even a bottled water brand. The latter is co-owned with music mogul Diddy.

Mark Wahlberg is not the first and will certainly not be the last celebrity to invest in car dealerships. Former NFL quarterback John Elway, for example, co-owned several dealerships throughout Colorado and California for several years before selling them for around $83 million.

Other sports stars, such as former major league pitcher C.J. Wilson, who now owns 15 dealerships, have figured out that the car business can be very lucrative, assuming one surrounds themselves with responsible business partners. So if you live or are planning to be in the Columbus, Ohio area, you'll already see the new 'Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet' sign at the dealership. In case you're wondering, Wahlberg and Feldman already have plans to open more dealerships together, though specifics regarding time frame, location, and brands was not announced.
