It's incredible how racing games have evolved in the last 30 years. OutRun may look dated now, but its 3D graphics and licensed Ferrari Testarossa Spider was revolutionary when it launched in arcades back in the 1980s. Today, gamers are spoilt with photo-realistic graphics and hundreds of licensed cars in games like Forza Horizon 4.

To celebrate how far we've come, Acura has launched a unique new free-to-play mobile racing game based on the automaker's recent "Beat That" commercial, which is part of Acura's "Less Talk, More Drive Campaign."

The new free-to-play game puts players behind the wheel of one of six cars form Acura's history that starred in the "Beat That" commercial, including the 1991 Acura NSX, 2020 Acura RDX A-Spec, and Acura Type S Concept. Each of the six available tracks has a unique visual style representing a different era of gaming, from the popular 8-bit style of the '80s and '90s, to more realistic graphics modern gaming. Like in real life, each Acura in the game has unique driving characteristics and performance capabilities.

Here's a breakdown of the levels:

• Level 1: 1991 Acura NSX - 8-bit Beach
• Level 2: 1998 Acura Integra Type R - Warehouse Complex
• Level 3: 2020 Acura RDX A-Spec - Snowy Summit
• Level 4: Acura ARX-05 Daytona Prototype race car - Grand Prix Circuit
• Level 5: 2020 Acura NSX - Super Skyway
• Level 6: Acura Type S Concept - Cyber Tunnel

To progress, players will need to beat a specific lap time to unlock the next level. Once a player completes a lap, they can challenge a friend to "Beat That", by completing a lap at a faster time. Dynamic share cards also allow players to share times and challenge their social networks. These share cards contain the level, vehicle, and individual lap time that each gamer earned on a specific track.

Players can also send a challenge to friends and family through Facebook Messenger or any other instant messaging platform or test their skills through challenge lap times on the daily top 10 or all-time top 10 leaderboard. Acura's "Beat That" racing game can be played on desktops and smartphones by visiting the dedicated Acura website.
