The luxury sedan is going for a steal.
Manufacturers across the board are currently offering massive discounts, especially on models nearing the end of their lifespans. That is exactly the case with the Acura RLX, the brand's flagship luxury sedan which is set to be discontinued after 2020.
This news doesn't come as a major surprise, as the RLX, and so many other large sedans of its kind, face cuts in the face of a growing demand for SUVs. The RLX made its debut in 2014, was given a major refresh in 2018, and was set to go up against the BMW 5 Series and Audi A6, but sales never took off.
Now Acura is planning an even bigger discount than the one it offered last month on its RLX cars. This comes at a time where tons of brands are slashing asking prices. How much of a discount are we talking about here? Well, Acura will offer you a massive $12,000 in savings, making it one of the largest discounts out there.
This deal won't be advertised on TV or any other traditional marketing avenues: Acura is offering an $11,000 dealer cash incentive on all 2020 RLX cars, and while it will require some shopping around at the right dealership, the effort will be worth it.
Offers on the luxury car have been flat for the past six months with a $7,500 incentive, and the latest deal is much more enticing than the one advertised on the Acura website: 2.9% APR financing for 60 months (or 1.9% for 36).
With an asking price of $60,000, the finance cost would come out to approximately $64,527 on a five-year loan. Add the $11,000 discount and the same car would come in at $55,481 based on a 5% rate before taxes and fees. Combine that with a loyalty discount that's been doubled to $1,000 and you end up with a whopping $12,000 discount.
