Acura Reveals SUV-X in Shanghai

Honda's premium brand also brings a compact crossover to Shanghai.

This year’s Shanghai Auto Show has been about nothing if not premium compact crossover concepts. BMW came with its new X4, Mercedes with the GLA, Volkswagen with the CrossBlue Coupe, and Acura with this: the Concept SUV-X. The crossover concept previews a new styling direction for Honda’s premium brand, one that looks more promising than the divisive styling of its previous models and more dramatic than the toned-down versions it has produced since.

The shape appears smaller than Acura’s current crossovers, and could preview the next-gen RDX. But in the meantime, the SUV-X concept unveiled at the Chinese expo could see production in China as a stand-alone model for the Chinese market.
