The 2020 Acura TLX PMC Edition was recently announced as a limited-edition model as an attempt to inject some more sportiness into its luxury sport sedan.

It has now been unveiled in the metal at the 2019 New York Auto Show and it looks stunning in its deep red paintwork, not as overtly aggressive as a German sports sedan but bearing all the subtle traits of a properly sporty ride.

That rather attractive paint job has up until now been reserved solely for the NSX supercar and features nano pigment technology. The PMC in the name refers to Acura's Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio, where it will be manufactured alongside the NSX.

The Performance Manufacturing Center was designed just for limited edition models like the TLX PMC of which only 360 will be made. The one on display at the Acura stand bore a 0 of 360 plaque on its center console indicating that it is the very first TLX PMC built.

It did have us wondering whether this means that in fact 361 cars will be built, unless this one is destined for Acura's heritage fleet. Being the top model in the range the TLX PMC comes packed with premium features like a 10-speaker ELS studio audio system and the AcuraWatch safety system. Unique to this car are the Milano leather seats with Alcantara inserts and contrasting red stitching.

Aside from the eye-catching red paintwork, there are dark chrome details inside and out, the roof is painted black as are the subtle trunk spoiler and 19-inch wheels. The end result is an understated yet still sporty 290 horsepower sedan that we think perfectly suits the grown-up nature of the TLX range.
