Afghanistan's first supercar is called the Mada 9 and has been making rumbles on the web, although it seems far from complete and a long way from production.

However, purely out of optimism, we're hoping the company Entop is a real company and can get some traction. There are no details or reason to believe that, as claimed, the Entop Mada 9 will go up against a Bugatti Chiron. Still, Entop has released videos of the car being built, one of the engines being married to a chassis, and another of it moving, lighting up its tires at the tail end of a very dramatic cinematic trailer.

Hopefully, it won't be long before it shows up at Cars And Coffee in Kabul.

Our favorite video is the one below, which shows a tired, shattered, war-weary man covered in mud sitting surrounded by spent bullet cartridges and listening to the radio as optimistic music wells. We hear an English-speaking voice on the radio talk about never leaving the country while the man drinks water from a canteen before he stands, looks across, then walks over to a clean runway and pulls the cloth away to reveal the Mada 9.

It may be ham-fisted, but the message is clear. The people behind the car are tired of the fighting and its effects on innocent people.

The most telling thing in any of the videos we've seen is that it's a woman starting the car for the first time. The Taliban regime took over the country and stopped issuing driver's licenses to women.

Given the current state of Afghanistan, there's little chance of a supercar making it into production without the team behind it being taken out of the country and financed independently.

However, Entop appears to be determined to build the car there. Hopefully, we aren't projecting too much, and Entop will find some success. It actually moves under its own steam, albeit only slowly in the video below and after a burnout in the video below, but that's more than some of the vaporware supercars and hypercars we've come across.
