He thinks the "F1" number plate is worth a lot more than that.
Everyone's favorite Land Rover stylist A. Kahn Design is led by a man rich enough to turn down the equivalent of $9 million for a license plate. Afzal Kahn is the owner of several sought-after private plates, the most desirable of which is "F1." The 109-year-old plate was bought for £440,000 in 2008 from the owner of a Volvo S80, it now takes pride and place on his Bugatti Veyron, and is clearly not for sale at any price. In fact Mr. Kahn rejected the offer out of hand.
According to the Daily Mail, he believes it's worth considerably more, while a spokesperson from his aftermarket firm said: "Cherished number plates, unlike property or other investments tend not to fluctuate in value, they only go up. It really shouldn't be a shock to people that the number plate is worth millions of pounds." The British businessman's other plates includes "4HRH" and "NO1," while the most expensive plate ever sold is the UAE registration "1" that sold for £7.1million in 2008.
