Alfa’s long-awaited return is just months away. But first you’ll get to see and hear it at the Festival of Speed.
Having stunned the Geneva crowds in 2011 and revealed full specs just weeks prior to this year’s show, Alfa Romeo is planning to give the highly anticipated 4C its first public run out at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next month. Last year it was the turn of the Jaguar F-Type and the Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake to wow the crowds at the UK’s premier motoring event, and now the Goodwood faithful will get the chance to hear the low-slung sports car’s 1.8-liter turbo-four bark as it sprints up the hill to the Lord March’s estate.
With 250 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, lightweight frame and awesome handling the 4C will take the Hill Climb in its stride. Hitting 0-62 mph in 4.5 seconds with the help of launch control and Alfa’s dual-clutch auto box should also be a spectacle worthy of the West Sussex festival. The Goodwood FoS runs from July 11-14, not long after which the Alfa Romeo 4C will be hitting US showrooms.
