Alfa Romeo is celebrating their 60th anniversary and Italians seems to have their own unique way of marking the occasion. Touring Superleggera, the coachbuilders based in Milan, are bringing a new Alfa Romeo Disco Volante Concept to the 2012 Geneva Motor Show to show the famous company some love. The Alfa Romeo C 52 was known for being super-aerodynamic, boasting a ridiculous drag coefficient of just .25. The C 52, built in 1952 and nicknamed Disco Volante, or "flying saucer," won many admirers in its time.

The 2012 Disco Volante Concept will continue Touring's work building on Alfa Romeo models and this one is no different. It will be based on the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione supercar and its Maserati-sourced 4.7-liter V8 engine rated at 450hp. Automotive manufacturers HAS has already said they will build several of these models and with carbon fiber and aluminum panels, it should boast plenty of performance thanks to its lightweight and powerful engine. The 2012 Disco Volante Concept by Touring Superleggera will make its debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in March.
