In the last few years, Alfa Romeo has broken two production car Nurburgring lap records. The Giulia Quadrifoglio set a time of seven minutes and 32 seconds at the Green Hell, while the Stelvio Quadrifoglio is still currently the fastest SUV to ever lap the German circuit. To celebrate "the historic bond" between Nurburgring and Alfa Romeo, the Italian automaker is launching two new special "NRING" editions of the high-performance sedan and SUV featuring unique exterior upgrades and collectors items.

Currently on sale in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, both the Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio NRING are finished in an exclusive Circuito Grey paint and feature a numbered plaque inside the cabin. Only 108 examples of each model are being built to celebrate 108 years of the Italian automaker. Other model-specific features include carbon-ceramic brakes, carbon-shelled Sparco bucket seats with red stitching and a leather/Alcantara steering wheel as standard. The front badge and the rearview mirror caps are also made of carbon fiber, as are the side skirt inserts. The special edition Giulia also gets a new bare carbon roof while the special Stelvio gets a panoramic sunroof.

Both models are powered by a twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 that produces 503 hp and 442lb-ft of torque and is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. In the rear-wheel drive Giulia Quadrifoglio, 0-62 mph takes just 3.9 seconds before the SUV tops out at 190 mph. The all-wheel drive Stelvio will do the same sprint in 3.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 175 mph. Owners of the special edition Alfas will be offered an exclusive driving experience event at the Nurburgring in 2019 and receive an assortment of goodies including a 1:18 scale model of their car, Sparco racing gloves, custom jacket, sports bag, cuff links and footwear.
