The Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA and the even more hardcore GTAm are works of limited edition art that are destined to become collector's items in the not-too-distant future. The base price is an already insane $193,000, and with only 500 GTAs being produced, the limited availability will send prices soaring on the second-hand market. Is it worth it, against other ultra-focused track machines like the Jaguar XE SV Project 8? Well that's up to the buyers, we suppose; but the aggressive styling and ferocity of the 540-horsepower twin-turbo V6 has won us over before the first units have even been delivered. But we can't help but wonder what the world would be like if there were a two-door Giulia GTAm coupe, and thanks to Car Lifestyle on Instagram, we don't have to imagine anymore.
Previous renders of a two-door derivative didn't really do the car justice, simply erasing the rear-door shut lines but leaving the proportions ultimately unaltered. The render from Car Lifestyle goes a little further, with a more aggressive slope to the roofline and lengthier front doors that better suit the coupe profile. They've even massaged a bit more muscle from the body, and while the rear wheel arches are still carbon fiber extensions instead of remolded fenders, the front end gets a more prominent splitter, the front air intakes get dual gill-like setups in front of the wheels, and the fenders feature more prominent venting as well.
With Alfa Romeo scaling back on plans to build a 6C or 8C supercar, as well as the likelihood of a Giulia Quadrifoglio-based GTV now almost gone, renders like these are as close as we'll get to seeing a hardcore Alfa coupe.
Still, the sedan is hardcore enough, with a 3.6-second 0-60 mph sprint. In GTAm guise, it gets extra aerodynamic bits like the gorgeous carbon fiber wing developed by the Alfa Romeo Sauber Formula 1 team, and with more grip, more downforce, and more power, the 7:32 Nurburgring lap time set by the standard Giulia Quadrifoglio is bound to be demolished when the GTAm gets a turn to go around the famed green hell.
