The Nurburgring is not the be-all-end-all track for automakers anymore. There's no way to check an automaker's lap times, other than a Boy Scout's honor. Alfa Romeo claims that the Giulia QV has lapped the Green Hell in 7 minutes and 39 seconds. To put that into perspective, that's faster than a Lamborghini Murcielago and around the same time as the Lexus LFA. Yes, a four-door sedan that can seat five comfortably is just as fast around a treacherous circuit as supercars. That's a step in the right direction for turbocharged vehicles.

The Giulia QV's lap time is a full 13 seconds quicker than the BMW M4 and may be the new benchmark for future sports cars. With a Ferrari-inspired 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 under the hood that makes 503 hp, we weren't surprised the Giulia QV beat the M4, but we weren't expecting it to be by such a large margin. The Giulia QV will start at approximately $89,000 in Italy with pricing for the US yet to be released. With sales expected to start soon, we're never been more excited about a four-door sedan.
