Some might think that the Hummer brand has been lost to the winds of time, but those who love this brand are getting excited for the reveal of an electrified version of America's most loved military truck turned suburban drug dealer transporter. The manufacturer of the H3 which competed with the likes of the GMC Yukon and Chevrolet Suburban has recently leaked a new logo that will change everything the brand stands for. Thanks to a post on Hummer Chat, we now have the latest scoop on what the branding for this upcoming EV will look like. The logo consists of the word Hummer superimposed over a capital H with the letters "EV" overlapping the right side of the H in a stylized font. We must say it looks pretty eye-catching.

We have heard whispers from GM company president Mark Reuss that the automotive giant will be looking into strapping battery packs on some of its most popular platforms. He said we'll see "multiple pickup trucks" over the coming years. "There are a lot of things we haven't announced yet, but there's a wide bandwidth that we can accomplish with our battery-electric truck platform." But what we know for sure is that the development of the electric Hummer has continued despite Covid-19's best efforts, but the reveal date of mid-May has been moved to an undisclosed date and time. We do know a thing or two about what to expect: the new EV Hummer is set to be revealed as a rugged off-road pickup, whereafter a more civilized utility variant will follow.

The new Hummer EV is promised with an 800-volt power system with 350-kW DC fast-charging capability, and will be available in one, two, or three-motor configurations, and will boast fully-independent suspension. GM expects the brute to produce close to 1,000 hp and an absolute ton of torque. So with some new branding behind the name, and a good amount of information at our fingertips, it's time to get excited for the release of the new electric Hummer.
