It's been two years since the popular Peugeot received a facelift, and now we have spy shots of the all-new 308 model undergoing winter testing. Initially rumored to be called the 301, a name Peugeot later awarded its compact sedan, the new 308, like the 208, is expected to be lighter and more agile than its predecessor. The platform and powertrains will be borrowed from the Citroen C4 and DS4 and will also have some engines that power its 208 sibling.

So a wide range of gasoline and diesel engines, including a diesel hybrid and engines from the new three-cylinder family, will be available. The design borrows styling cues from the 208 and SR1 Concept car revealing a more elegant and compact body than the current 308. However, the heavy camouflage makes it hard for us to fully appreciate it.
