AMG CLA 45

Segment
Sedan

On the one hand, we're thrilled that Mercedes launched the CLA in the first place. Sure it's front-wheel-drive, but it's actually affordable for many, and the CLA 45 AMG, though pricier, is an all-wheel-drive, 355 horsepower delight. However, we've always felt that its Europe-only platform mate, the A-Class and the A45 AMG, looked better due to its hatchback body style; the rear slope on the CLA just looks off. Fortunately, the CLA Shooting Brake is a nice improvement.

More specifically, the CLA45 AMG Shooting Brake was caught testing by our spy photographers with very little camouflage. Like the CLA four-door coupe (read: sedan), the CLA45 AMG Shooting Brake will come powered by the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four producing 360 horsepower. All of the typical AMG performance bits, such as quad exhaust pipes, big brakes, a lowered suspension, and an aggressive body kit, are present. And, as is often the case with five-doors such as this, Mercedes has no plans to bring the CLA45 AMG Shooting Brake to the US. It's just an utter shame.
