Here are their short and dirty resumes: the Cadillac CTS-V coupe is powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 with 556 horsepower while the BMW M3 coupe is equipped with a 4.0-liter V8 that produces 414hp. Both are rear-wheel-drive and combine everything great about muscle cars into a supposedly more refined and luxurious package. After too many years of letting Germany have all of the fun, America is very much back in the game building truly great V8 coupes and sedans once again.

We also know that the next-generation M3's V8 will be replaced by a twin-turbo inline-six and, as far as we know so far, the V8 will return in the next CTS-V. For now, check out this cool video showing the two rivals going head-to-head. So which is the better car? Well, that's open for debate but we know everyone has their favorite.
