Czinger Vehicles cashed in on the Formula 1 buzz surrounding the Circuit of the Americas this week. It went out and set an all-new production car record, smashing the previous record by a full six seconds.

This is arguably Czinger's most impressive record to date. Early in August is set the new production car record at Laguna Seca. The previous record-holder was the McLaren Senna, which set a time of 1:27.62. And then the Czinger 21C came along and set a time of 1:25.44. We'll round it up to a nice two seconds in favor of the 3D-printed American car.

Back in September, at 9:50 am, driver Joel Miller went out and drove an epic lap at the Track of the Americas (COTA). A time of 2:11.33 was recorded on multiple GPS systems, according to Czinger. The previous lap record was 2:17.12, set by a McLaren P1. That's a six-second difference, which is vast.

The Czinger made its debut earlier this year. It's a 3D-printed car powered by a mid-mounted twin-turbo V8 and two electric motors in the front. The combined power output is 1,250 hp at 11,000 rpm. There is also an upgrade available that increases the power by an additional 100 hp. To much skepticism, the car was first announced in 2020, but these continued record-breaking runs are making the 21C quite famous.

"As a blue-collar kid growing up in Cleveland, Ohio, I used to lie awake at night thinking about my racing hero, Jim Hall, his latest innovations and the technology-packed Chaparral cars his team built," said Kevin Czinger, founder and CEO of Czinger Vehicles and Divergent 3D, the company revolutionizing the car manufacturing industry. "The era and the AI-based and sustainability-focused technologies available are different, but the animating spirit remains the same - living the American Dream at speed - no-limits, Texas-style."

Why did Czinger keep it under wraps for so long? Well, in case you don't know yet, the US Grand Prix is taking place at COTA this weekend for the first time in two years. The F1 circus brings a lot of attention to town, so there will be various events going on simultaneously. The Czinger 21C will be on display at the Club Sports Illustrated venue if you're in the neighborhood and want to have a look.

While Czinger's lap time is impressive, we feel duty-bound to illustrate just how big the gap is between a production car and an F1 car. The current lap record at COTA is held by Charles Leclerc and Ferrari. The time is 1:36.169.

"Czinger Vehicles is an American company. This company designs, manufactures and assembles in California. We own all the IP, America owns all the IP, but we also represent the American attributes and spirit of inclusion and opportunity. Our team has come from all over America and the world to join us. And when we thought about tracks that represent this company, that represent this Made-in-America Story, The Circuit of the Americas was a compelling choice. We're grateful for our time in Austin and look forward to many more days on this track," said Lukas Czinger, VP of Operations.

We're 100% sure this isn't Czinger's last lap record attempt, and we can't wait to see where it pops up next to give McLaren another spanking.
