The small German four-doors are invading New York this year, with Audi unveiling its A3 and S3 sedans and Benz making its new CLA45 AMG official. Previewed in a series of leaked images just over a week ago, this is the AMG version of the German automaker's new four-door coupe, and the Americanized version of the A45 AMG hot hatch. It packs Affalterbach's new high-output 2.0-liter turbo four to channel 355 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission to all four wheels.

With all that juice on tap, 0-60 is quoted at 4.5 seconds with top end electronically limited to 155 mph, as is the German norm. Along with the engine upgrade, AMG has also given the CLA45 a more aggressive aero package for a more muscular look and improved airflow, as well as 18-inch wheels mounted to a beefed-up suspension and cross-drilled brakes at all corners. The interior has also undergone the typical AMG treatment to make it that much more suitable an environment from which to summon all the performance which the new baby AMG has to offer. US pricing is said to start at around $47k.
