An Audi R8 V10 Plus Drifting At A Rainy Le Mans Is The Ultimate Supercar Save

Le Mans 24 Hours

Safety cars aren't really supposed to crash after all.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans is going down this weekend, but the coolest action might have happened before the race. Yannick Dalmas was piloting the official Audi R8 V10 Plus safety car around the track under a red flag when he caught a puddle and went sideways. Or maybe he meant to execute such a sweet drift? Whatever the case, the resulting drift made for one pretty awesome video. Audi would have had trouble staging something so cool and dramatic even with an expansive budget and closed course.

Dalmas’ sweet slide was great entertainment for all the drivers and crews forced to take five by the bad weather. And yes, we agree with what every other outlet has been saying about this video: It will make a badass commercial.
