You're about to learn otherwise.
It’s like this segment of cars literally came out of nowhere and now we’re seeing them everywhere. Compact crossovers. Sometimes they look kind of weird, like the Nissan Juke. Other times somewhat rugged, like the Jeep Renegade. But what about the Kia Soul? Is it nothing more than a box riding on four wheels with LEDs, or does it actually have, well, a soul? We weren’t so sure but after spending some time with the 2016 Soul we realized that it’s without a doubt one of the best all-around cars you can buy today.
Affordable? Yes. A fully-loaded, brand new Soul, complete with a 2.0-liter four banger, Nappa leather upholstery, a large infotainment screen, and a panoramic sunroof, can be had for around $27,000. Special thanks to Kia Marin in Novato, California, for letting us shoot the Soul.
And remember this: the average amount people are spending on new cars today is around $33,000. We were impressed with the Soul’s overall packaging, the interior space it provides and, most of all, its solid value all wrapped up in a premium package. Still not entirely convinced the Kia Soul is worth spending your hard earned dollars on? Check out our featured walk around video and you’ll soon be won over too.
