Rumors about the M2 version of the newly introduced BMW2-Series have been circulating for quite some. But now, it seems to finally beofficial: the M2 will enter production in fall 2015, meeting its firstcustomers towards the end of the year or in early 2016. According to BimmerPost, sources deep within the company say the car will feature a turbochargedversion of the N55 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine, and should produce between365 and 375 horsepower.
Code-named pyrat2 or F87, the 2016 M2 will outshine the M235iby about 50 horsepower, keeping approximately the same distance from its biggerand more expensive brother, the BMW M4. Pricing and specification have yet tobe released, but we expect its base price to come in somewhere around $55,000.
