Parent-company Mahindra thinks it can finally crack American market with Korean brand.
As we told you earlier this year, Indian auto-making giant, Mahindra, has been interested in entering the North American market for some time now, and it looks like it may be happening sooner than expected with the help of one of its subsidiaries – SsangYong. The Korean brand, Reuters reports, is currently conducting a feasibility study to examine the likelihood of such a move, even by developing new models that would be tailored to the US market.
If this were to happen, the company says it could churn out new products in two to three years, marketing SsangYong as an affordable SUV and crossover manufacturer on our shores. With new concepts already headed for the upcoming Paris Motor Show, the company might already be on the way to a surprise welcome in the US.
