The typical car buyer doesn't really pay much attention to engines. As long as it runs they're usually happy. But we're car people and engines mean everything. So which new engines are the best? WardsAuto has just announced its top 10 best engines for 2015. Its editors spent October and November evaluating "a total of 37 all-new or improved powertrains, including four battery-electrics." All of the contenders are available in the US and every car the engines are in has a base price of $60,000 or less. Here they are in alphabetical order:
