Owning one typically helps.
Those who get it get it. And those who don’t, well, it’s their loss. What we’re referring to here is one of the greatest, and often times outright forgotten, Volkswagens ever sold in the US, the original Scirocco. As we all know, the current Scirocco is an overseas model only, and it’ll remain that way once its replacement arrives. But it’s the original Scirocco that was sold in the US that’s very special for many. Heck, even the Senior Editor over at Road & Track, Jason Cammisa, is the proud owner of one.
Amazingly, he prefers to drive his old Scirocco (which still looks fantastic, by the way) over some of the world’s most exclusive cars, like the Bugatti Veyron Supersport and the Porsche 918 Spyder. But there’s a problem with his Scirocco enthusiasm: spare parts are scarce and this issue isn’t likely to improve anytime soon.
