Chile international and Juventus footballer Arturo Vidal was involved in a car crash last night, with reports claiming the Arsenal and Real Madrid transfer target crashed his Ferrari 458 into another car on the highway before veering off-road. Vidal was on the way back from a casino with his wife, and local police have confirmed he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. After being treated for minor injuries at a nearby hospital, Vidal was escorted by police to the station for questioning.

While pictures show heavy damage to the Ferrari's left front and deployed air bags, both Vidal and his wife were unharmed. "Unfortunately I was involved in a traffic accident," Vidal wrote on his Twitter account, in Spanish. "Luckily we are all well and calm. Thanks for worrying." Vidal is currently in his home country for the Copa America, scoring twice on Monday in Chile's 3-3 draw with Mexico. He is the tournament's current top scorer with three goals. Chile's next opponent is Bolivia who they will face on Friday.
