Artist Renders Pagani Huayra Roadster

Pagani will surely create a roadster version of the Huayra at some point, just as it did with the Zonda. But while we wait, Italian design student Aldo Maria Sica shows us his visions for what it could look like.

No, your eyes aren't fooling you. These images of the Pagani Huayra without its top are not of the official convertible supercar that's set to arrive in the near future from the niche Italian automaker. These renderings are the work of Italian design student Aldo Maria Sica. Since its debut last year, world has been stunned by the sheer beauty and elaborate attention to detail in the Huayra. But as with so many other Italian supercars, fans knew it would only be a matter of time until the roadster version came along.

Sica's renderings are quite possibly the best preview we've seen so far as to what the production version could look like. Sica told us that he decided to emphasize the "hull" of the car, distinguishing it sharply with a pronounced belt line that wraps around the new rear air intake going around the cockpit. For the roof, Sica envisions a removable carbon fiber assembly composed of three pieces that can be stored in a suitcase that can be shored behind the seats and secured with two leather straps. Sica also envisions replacing the gullwing doors with scissor portals. How Pagani itself transforms the Huayra into a roadster remains to be seen, so we'll thank Aldo Maria Sica for the preview in the meantime.
