After this video of a New York plainclothes cop screaming abuse at an Uber driver went viral, Police Commissioner Bill Bratton has announced the detective has been stripped of his gun and badge. The video was taken by one of the passengers in the car, who told reporters the incident went down in the West Village as a result of a parking dispute. In short, the cop was in the wrong, the Uber driver let him know, and the cop reacted as if the guy had shot someone.

Thanks to the magic of Youtube and social media, the cop will now be transferred out of the department's elite Joint Terrorism Task Force. That will learn him. And hopefully other cops will take note that this sort of behavior just ain't on.
