We've been itching to see more of the Aston Martin AM-RB 001 ever since its reveal at the manufacturer's headquarters last summer. Mercifully, it turns out we don't have very long to wait, as the F1-inspired hypercar will be making its long-anticipated North American debut at the Canadian International Auto Show this week. The Canadian International Auto Show seems like an odd choice to reveal one of the most anticipated cars of the year, so don't be surprised if the astonishing hypercar also ends up being a star attraction at Geneva in March.

Since this is such a monumental reveal, Aston Martin's President and CEO Andy Palmer will also be at the show. "The Canadian International Auto Show marks the global auto show debut of our groundbreaking hypercar," he said. "The AM-RB 001 is destined to become the defining hypercar of this decade and a hugely desirable investment for collectors and enthusiasts." From what's been shared so far, it's hard to disagree with him. Developed in collaboration with Red Bull Technologies, the AM-RB 001 will be powered by a naturally-aspirated, V12 6.5-liter engine developed by Cosworth paired to a small electric motor which will produce over 1,000 horsepower and a top speed "upwards of 250 mph".

It will also only weigh 1,000 kilograms and the engine will rev up to 10,000 rpm, resulting in a 1:1 power ratio. If we had to bet money on it, we would have said the Aston Martin AM-RB 001 would have been revealed at the more popular Geneva show. Still, we can't complain as this means the AM-RB is being shown to North America sooner than expected when the 2017 Canadian International Auto Show kicks off on February 17th through to the 26th.
