Aston Martin Announces Brand New Engine

Long live the glorious V12.

As automakers are forced to downsize their engines due to emissions and other environmental concerns, Aston Martin seems to have cracked the code. The automaker released a teaser video of its brand-new 5.2-liter V12 twin-turbo engine that should come out sometime this year. Aston Martin hasn’t released any specs on the engine, but we know that it sounds like a monster. This proves that Aston Martin plans to drop its 6.0-liter V12 in favor of a more eco-friendly V12, which looks like a great compromise. We expect the motor to show up in the new DB11.

Despite the partnership between AMG and Aston Martin, a report from Road & Track indicates that this new V12 is an all-new creation by Aston Martin only.
