A new global reveal will take place.
Monterey Car Week is just days away, with the flagship 2021 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance event set to begin on August 13. This year is special as the show celebrates its 70th in existence, and Aston Martin celebrates its 70th anniversary of selling vehicles in North America, starting with the 1951 DB2/4. Aston Martin will bring its largest display ever to this year's event to commemorate such a momentous occasion.
The show will serve as the North American debut for the 2023 Aston Martin Valhalla, which was recently shown in production guise with a new AMG-sourced V8 engine. Aston Maritn will only build 999 examples of the Valhalla over two years, each powered by a plug-in hybrid setup producing 937 horsepower. Though the Valhalla may be the star of the show, it won't be Aston's only reveal.
In addition to the Valhalla's North American debut, another Aston Martin product will make its global debut. No specific details about the car were provided, but Aston says it will "[extend] the company's performance credentials a step further." This new product will be revealed at a private VIP event on August 12 before being displayed at the Aston Martin Club 1913 stand on August 13.
It's unclear if this reveal is an all-new model within the Aston Martin lineup or a new variant of an existing product. In the case of the former, it's anyone's guess. If it's the latter, we wouldn't be surprised to see a faster version of the DBX SUV or Vantage sports car.
Aside from the new reveals, Aston Martin will have plenty to drool over at its display. The UK automaker will bring a V12 Speedster finished in Racing Green, a one-of-25 DB5 Goldfinger Continuation car, and a selection of vehicles from the lineup. Guests interested in attending the brand space can contact their local dealership to seek an invitation.
"The past 16 months or so have been a time of unprecedented uncertainty for many around the world, including those of us at Aston Martin, but we've also taken this time to undertake a radical transformation, positioning ourselves for the future," said Renato Bisignani, Head of Global Marketing and Communications for Aston Martin. "With a new leadership team in place, an exciting portfolio of new products to look forward to, and new partnerships, the 2021 Monterey Car Week is very much the culmination of all this hard work; it's only fitting this is our largest activation ever."
