Aston Martin Hires Former Ferrari Exec To Lead The Brand

He joins Tobias Moers to spearhead the company's future strategies.

In a bid to get the Aston Martin Valkyrie production off the ground, the British marque has announced that Marco Mattiacci will be stepping on board as its new Global Chief Brand and Commercial Officer. This appointment comes as a relief to CEO Tobias Moers who has been struggling to develop products for the brand due to some key staff members jumping ship since his appointment.

Mattiacci is a veteran in the automotive sector having held senior leadership positions at Ferrari. Through his ten-year tenure with the Italian sportscar maker, he has gained crucial experience fulfilling the role of President and CEO of Ferrari North America and the Asia Pacific as well as Team Principal of the brand's Formula One division.

Before coming into this role, Mattiacci acted as a senior advisor to McKinsey and Company, a management and consultancy firm, as well as other private equity firms. He guided these organizations in the automotive and mobility subjects. Interestingly, he was also involved with the problematic Faraday Future where he held a Chief Brand and Commercial Officer position.

Coupling this with his stint as an advisor to the green technology specialists, Envision, Aston Martin Lagonda claims that Mattiacci is an authority in the electric mobility sphere, despite EVs not being a strong part of its strategy right now. His accolades are affirmed by the fact that in 2012, he was awarded the Automotive Executive of the Year title in the USA. The luxury car manufacturer says that its latest appointment will add some momentum to its growth and future product strategy in both commercial and motorsport activities.
