Aston Martin Turns To Gaydon To Produce Rapide

Industry News

British luxury automaker Aston Martin has brought back production of the Rapide to its Gaydon headquarters in Warwickshire, U.K. Previously, production of the four-door Rapide took place at the Magna Steyr plant in Austria. The reason for the original production location change was due to the fact that the Gaydon facility was not properly equipped to build the Rapide when it first launched in 2009.

Three years later, the Gaydon facility has become much more established, enabling the U.K. plant to release eight model lines, in addition to five variants. Production will begin in the second half of 2012.
