It doesn't matter that is doesn't serve a function, it's awesome.
We'll admit that we don't quite know what purpose an engine like this would serve, but even the man who built it says it was just for fun, and didn't have a use for it in mind. The engine you'll see in this video was built entirely by hand with a Bridgeport mill and a 95 year old lathe. It has dual overhead cams, an alloy block and a tungsten alloy flywheel. It even has a complete pressurized oil system, especially impressive in such a small engine.
We don't know how much power it makes, and for that matter, neither does the man who built it. But that's not all that important it's just sitting on a table anyway.
