1963 Shelby 289 Cobra topped the bid, selling for $825,000.
Auctions America held its 12th annual Fort Lauderdale auction this past weekend taking a record $21 million is sales at the collector car auction. Topping the bids was a 1963 Shelby 289 Cobra that went for $825,000, a 1973 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 that sold for $605,000 and a 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition whose new owner paid $412,500. Sales at the Fort Lauderdale auction has increased by almost 20 percent compared to 2013, with bidders coming from 13 countries and 44 states across the US.
Other sales of note include a 1934 Packard Twelve that went for $390,500, a 2005 Ford GT that sold for $259,600, and a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette 427/435 that found a buyer willing to pay $250,250. The Indiana-based company’s next auction takes place at Auburn Spring from May 9-10.
