What ever happened to company loyalty?

Spoilers for Avengers: Endgame are incoming, so if you somehow still haven't seen it, turn away now. Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark (aka Iron Man) often drove Audis in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, except for the one time he drove an Acura NSX. In the fourth Avengers movie, we see Downey behind the wheel of the all-electric Audi e-tron GT, a car which he actually helped reveal at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. Iron Man sacrifices himself to save the universe at the end of Endgame, leaving big shoes to fill in the film's shared universe.

Trailers for the upcoming film, Spider-Man: Far From Home, have hinted Peter Parker (aka Spider-Man) could fill Tony Stark's shoes as the franchise's leading hero. But if Spider-Man is going to fill the hole left by Iron Man's departure, he's going to need a cool car.

The character of Peter Parker is still in high school and in the first film, Spider-Man: Homecoming, he didn't even own a car. Audi did still have some product placement in the movie with Spider-Man stealing a TT convertible from a fellow classmate, Flash Thompson. Audi will once again sponsor the movie and we could see Peter Parker hop behind the wheel of his mentor's former ride, the Audi e-tron GT.

Audi has released a new short film called "Science Fair," where Peter Parker (Tom Holland) and his best friend Ned (Jacob Batalon) face stiff competition at their school science fair. Peter then calls in a favor from his friends at S.H.I.E.L.D to gain access to the all-electric Audi e-tron GT concept. The duo hilariously comes in second place after losing to a team that built a potato-powered version of Tony Stark's Arc Reactor.

"Teaming up with Sony Pictures to showcase the latest step in Audi's evolution - electrification - gives us a unique opportunity to better socialize this important technology with a highly engaged audience,'' said Loren Angelo, vice president of Marketing, Audi of America. "Peter Parker represents the continuing high-tech evolution of the Audi storyline within the Marvel Cinematic Universe." It isn't clear whether the e-tron GT will make another appearance in the film itself but the e-tron SUV, A7, and Q8 are all slated to make an appearance.
