The majority of Audis my not be aimed at all-out performance, but the German automaker creates some blistering vehicles that are denoted by two simple letters: "RS." While the rest of the world gets to enjoy these insane performance cars, the US has always missed out on the high-performance vehicles. That is, until now. According to a report by Quattro World, sources from Audi confirmed that the RS3 will be available in North America for the 2018 model year.

After a year without hearing any news on whether Audi would actually create a RS3 Sedan and whether it would come to the US, it appears the automaker has heard the pleas to bring a high-performance sedan back to the states. At an Audi summit for Audi of America employees, several unnamed sources told Quattro World that a RS3 is in the works and will make its way across the ocean. It shouldn't come as a surprise that Audi went ahead and created a hotter version of the S3, since the automaker recently unveiled the hardcore A3 Clubsport Quattro Concept. The truly surprising part of the news is that Audi plans to bring the sedan to the US.

There's no official word on what performance will be for the RS3, but Quattro World suspects it will have a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-five engine that will make over 400 hp. That's a lot less than the Clubsport Quattro Concept from before, but we're not complaining. The hot sedan is also rumored to get bespoke bucket seats and a slightly refreshed look. The RS3 sedan is set to arrive by the end of next year as a 2018 model and will most likely start at somewhere between $55,000 and $60,000.
