In order to tempt buyers into its UK showrooms, Audi has introduced special edition models for the S Line A6 Sedan, A6 Avant and A7 Sportback, dubbing them 'Black Editions.' Available to order this month, the trio of Black Edition vehicles have been given black styling packages, privacy glass, rotor-design alloys with a dark titanium finish (20-inch diameter in the A6 models, 21-inch diameter in the A7 Sportback), and a Bose sound system.

The special dark finish is applied to the grille, number plate surrounds, window frame strips, and black roof rails for the A6 Avant. Inside, the cabins get Piano Black inlays, black leather sports seats and black headlining. All three models ride on a lowered S Line sports suspension and benefit from other S-Line spec goodies including sat-nav, exterior and interior styling enhancements, light and rain sensors, LED rear lights, Xenon all-weather headlights, parking system plus, and keyless go. For the A7, extras include a power tailgate, a power retractable rear spoiler and adjustable front seats.

Audi claims the new Black Edition is best accompanied by the 3.0-liter BiTDI unit rated at 313 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque, but can be selected with all the engines in the A6 Sedan and Avant range: from the 175 -horsepower 2.0-liter TDI upwards, but excluding S6 models; and in the A7 Sportback, all engine units bar the front-wheel drive 3.0-liter TDI and S7 Sportback. Prices range from £35,000 to £57,000 with deliveries to start early next year.
