Ahead of the concept's unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show next month, Audi has revealed a few sketches of the Prologue Avant that builds on the Prologue concept that debuted last year. While that model pointed the way for the next-gen A6, A7 and A8 lineup – as well as previewing a range-topping A9 model – the Avant concept will demonstrate how Audi intends to style its future wagons. Better still, it shows what an A9 Avant in the mold of a Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake could look like.

The images reveal a low roofline, rakish windscreen, and Audi's signature oversized hexagonal front grille, LED lights and large air intakes. At the back, twin exhausts are housed in the rear bumper topped by a boot-mounted spoiler. The Prologue's 600-hp 4.0-liter V8 is expected to carry over to the Avant concept, while the interior will come with a full-width OLED display coupled with supplementary displays from where every aspect of the car can be controlled.
