Latest promotional clip exposes the dialed-up 5.2-liter V10 as it roars at full throttle and unleashes 550 horsepower.
With US dealerships set to take stock of the Audi R8 Plus, the German automaker has released a promotional clip that shows its halo supercar with the back off, exposing the 550-horsepower 5.2-liter V10 while it accelerates at full throttle. The sound that emanates from the powerplant is simply awesome, and its easy on the eye too. Audi has teamed up with free image-recognition app Blippar, so users can now view the YouTube clip by simply pointing their smartphone at print and poster ads of the car, transforming 2D photos to life.
Thanks to the dialed up V10, the new R8 Plus can shift from 0-62 mph in 3.5 seconds en route to a top speed of 197 mph. Distinguishing the Plus model from the stock R8 are carbon fiber splitter, mirror housings, wider side blades and air vents, 19-inch lightweight alloys and a larger rear diffuser.
