Audi S1 Sizzles on the Swiss Show Floor

Hot Hatch

The hot-hatch looks ready to eat up some European roads.

It might be cold outside, but inside the Palexpo the all-new S1 is heating up the show floor. The all-new model borrows plenty from the limited-edition A1 Quattro, albeit with slightly less power coming from its 2.0-liter turbo-four with 228 hp and 272 lb-ft of torque to its 252 hp and 287 lb-ft. That’s still plenty for a series-production hot-hatch that Audi claims will sprint from 0-62 mph in 5.8 seconds an hit a top speed of 155 mph.

Power is sent to all four wheels (obviously) via a six-speed manual, and Haldex-style multi-plate-clutch four-wheel drive system. Standard gear includes 17-inch alloys, 310 mm front disc brakes, Xenon headlamps, LED taillamps, wider side sills, modified bumpers, and a must-have optional roof spoiler.
