Audi S3 Cabrio Set to Take on Mercedes CLA

Spy Shots

Drop-top variant of Audi’s compact premium sedan will debut at Frankfurt Motor Show next month.

When Audi revealed its A3 sedan at the New York Auto Show, Mercedes was sent a message that its CLA wasn’t going to have the compact premium sedan segment all to itself. And with a cabrio variant ready to drop at Frankfurt next month, the Four Rings is redoubling its efforts to capture more of the niche market. These latest spy shots are of the S3 cabrio undertaking further testing ahead of its public debut. Power will come from a 300-hp 2.0-liter four-pot sent to all four wheels via either a six-speed manual or S-tronic dual clutch gearbox.
