Audi is no stranger to special editions, having released a number over the years. Just last year, Audi celebrated 40 years of the legendary quattro AWD system in a big way, with a special edition Audi TT RS and an even crazier RS6 GTO Concept. But now, Audi's British arm is paying tribute to another legend with a slew of special edition models available in extremely limited numbers. Here to pay homage to the 1994 Audi RS2 Avant, meet the Audi Sport Nogaro Editions, available in TT RS Coupe, RS4 Avant, RS5 Coupe and Sportback, and RS6 Avant flavors.

As the name might suggest, each of these tributes is finished in Audi's historic Nogaro Blue paint finish - a hue that originally adorned the RS2 and was named after a French GP circuit. It was the signature color of the RS2, which was not only the first Audi RS model, but was one that was co-developed by Porsche and set the standard for performance wagons of the era.

"The Avant RS 2 established the concept of the very high-performance estate that remains incredibly popular with Audi Sport customers to this day, and that vivid Nogaro Blue paint finish certainly helped the new genre make an impact," says Audi UK's Director, Andrew Doyle.

In addition to the blue exterior finish, Nogaro Edition models will sport gloss black 20-inch alloy wheels with the exception of the RS6 Avant Audi Sport Nogaro Edition, which will house 22-inch alloys within its blistered arches. All will feature red brake calipers bearing the Audi RS logo. Complementing the blue and black theme, the front spoiler, side sills, and rear diffusers will be finished in matte aluminum, while the Audi and RS badging and mirror caps will wear a gloss black finish, as do the twin oval tailpipes, mimicking the 25 Years of Audi RS package sold in Germany a few years ago.

Inside the cabin, Denim Blue accent stitching enhances the Nappa or Valcona leather upholstery, while an enhanced leather package adds more of the stuff to a variety of surfaces around the cabin. Additionally, a Bang & Olufsen sound system, Advanced Key access, and either a 360-degree or rear-view camera, depending on the model, is standard fare.

These models range in price in the UK for the equivalent of $94,620 to $160,910, with just 25 units available of each. If you're in the US, we received our own special edition tribute to the RS2 - the 2021 Audi RS6 Avant RS Tribute Edition. The US special edition was also limited to 25 units and also wears Nogaro Blue paint, but at a price of $136,800 is far lighter on the wallet.
